FRISCO, Texas -- The Bishop Lynch women's soccer team traveled to Frisco on Tuesday night and delivered another dominant performance, defeating Legacy Christian Academy 6-0. This marks the Friars' second consecutive 6-0 victory, following a win over Prestonwood Christian Academy last Thursday.
As has been the case in many of their victories, Bishop Lynch's offense struck early. Initially reported as a goal by
Bella Alamo, review confirmed
Leticia Arellano netted the opening goal with an assist from
Ellis Kuntz, giving the Friars a 1-0 lead.
Before the Eagles could regain their footing, the Friars extended their lead. A cross from Alamo found
Madison Murphy, who buried the ball in the bottom corner of the net to make it 2-0.
The Friars closed the first half in style, led by freshman
Serenity Collins. Collins scored twice before halftime, bringing her season total to eight goals. Her first was a stunning header off a cross from Kuntz, leaving the crowd in awe. She followed up with a give-and-go play with Alamo, finishing with a precise strike from her right foot.
The second half began much like the first, with Arellano scoring an impressive goal directly off a corner kick from Kuntz that darted into the top-right corner. This marked Arellano's second consecutive game with two goals.
The Friars capped off the night with Murphy converting a penalty kick in the final minutes, securing her second goal of the match. The referee's final whistle sealed the 6-0 victory.
