Bishop Lynch Cross Country Wraps Up Season at State Championship

WACO, Texas – The Bishop Lynch cross country team concluded its impressive season at the TAPPS 6A State Championship Meet on Monday morning at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course. The men's team finished 10th overall while the women's team claimed 11th place, both improving on last year's finishes.

For the men, Dash Raya and Harman Pope continued to lead the way in the 5K race. Out of 121 competitors, Raya finished 35th and Pope followed closely in 37th. Supporting the scoring effort were Alex Malakoff (75th), Pierce Oxford (82nd), Landry Rose (94th), Grant Benavides (95th), and Jack Baker (116th), helping the Friars finish 10th as a team, up from 14th last season.

The women also posted a strong showing, improving from 13th place in 2024 to 11th in 2025. Freshman Emme Driscoll led the team in the 2-mile race, finishing 29th overall, the highest individual finish for a Bishop Lynch women's runner since 2025. Rounding out the scoring were Natalia Vega (67th), Lauren Robert (68th), Elliot Guinnee (69th), Cece Degeyter (74th), Margaret Reidy (81st), and Ellie McPike (100th), securing the team's 11th-place finish.
