FORT WORTH — The Bishop Lynch cross country team reached the halfway point of its regular season this past weekend at the Battle of the Buff, with both varsity teams continuing their strong starts to the 2026 season. The men finished seventh overall, while the women recorded their third consecutive top-five finish, placing fourth.

Lauren Robert led the way for the Friars on the women's side, as the senior captain raced to a top-10 finish in the two-mile race. Robert crossed the finish line in 12:46.39 to place 10th overall. Bailey Guinnee followed with another strong performance, finishing 23rd in 13:47.62.

The men's team was led by Landry Rose and Baxter Givens, who finished just over three seconds apart in the 5K. Rose placed 23rd with a time of 18:38.49, while Givens finished 24th in 18:41.63 to help the Friars secure seventh place as a team.

With the Friars continuing to post strong team finishes, multiple student-athletes recording personal bests, and the roster getting healthier, Bishop Lynch will look to build on its early-season momentum over the final four meets of the regular season.

The Friars will race in the Coach T - Marcus Invitational this Saturday, Sept. 5, at North Lakes Park in Denton. The first race is scheduled for 6:50 a.m.
