Third-Quarter Woes Lead to Loss for Bishop Lynch

| By:
Box Score DALLAS – The Bishop Lynch football team fell to defending TAPPS 6A state champion Liberty Christian last Friday, 49-13. After a competitive, hard-hitting first half, the Warriors pulled away by outscoring the Friars 28-0 in the third quarter on Halloween night.

Zack Williams continues to shine for the Friars in all three phases of the game. Offensively, the freshman standout hauled in 11 receptions for 104 yards, while on special teams, he set up two scoring drives inside the red zone with strong returns.

Williams wasn't the only freshman making an impact for Bishop Lynch. Kicker Caleb Malouf enjoyed one of his best performances of the season, converting all three of his kicking attempts. Malouf knocked through a pair of first-half field goals (from 25 and 21 yards) and was perfect on his lone extra-point try.

Willy Patterson and Luke Hammonds led the Friars defensively. Patterson recorded another double-digit tackle performance with 12 stops, including one for loss, while Hammonds added 11 tackles of his own.

The Friars' lone touchdown of the night came from senior wideout Ishmael Muhammad, who broke free for a career-long 38-yard rushing score in the fourth quarter.
