Friars Secure Fourth Win of the Season With Clean Sheet Over Storm

DALLAS – Coming off Thanksgiving break and playing their first match since November 13, the Bishop Lynch men's soccer team showed no signs of slowing down, earning a convincing 3-0 victory over Texas Storm on Monday night at Roffino Stadium.

Moises Bernabe continued his hot start to the year, scoring his team-leading sixth goal in just five matches. Aziel Moreno and Sebastian Perdomo also found the back of the net, while goalkeeper Diego Reyes recorded his third clean sheet of the season.

Goals (Assists)
2' Bishop Lynch - Moises Bernabe (Jack DeSmeth)
8' Bishop Lynch - Aziel Moreno
73' Bishop Lynch - Sebastian Perdomo (Geovany Flores)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Friars opened with intensity and immediately put Texas Storm under pressure, scoring their fastest goal of the season just 90 seconds into the match. DeSmeth delivered a well-placed cross into the box, and Bernabe calmly redirected it first-time into the net for an early 1-0 lead. Moments later, Moreno doubled the advantage, following up his own blocked shot to secure a 2-0 cushion—and his second goal in as many matches.

Bishop Lynch continued to control play throughout the second half, generating 16 shots with nine on frame. The breakthrough finally came in the 73rd minute when Flores slipped a perfectly weighted ball to Perdomo, who finished confidently for the first goal of his varsity career. Flores now leads the team with three assists on the season.

Overall, the Friars dominated possession with 62% of the ball and outshot Texas Storm 25-1, posting a 9-0 edge in corner kicks.

WITH THE WIN:
  • Bishop Lynch improves to 4-1—the program's best five-match start since the 2019–2020 season, when the Friars opened 5-0.
  • The Friars extend their winning streak against Texas Storm to three straight matches, dating back to the 2023–24 season.
NEXT UP:
Bishop Lynch is once again on home turf on Wednesday, December 4, playing host to Episcopal School of Dallas to face the Eagles. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in Roffino Stadium.
