Defending Champion Friars' Season Ends in Regional Round

PLANO, Texas — The reigning TAPPS champion Bishop Lynch women's basketball team was unable to defend its title, falling to Prestonwood Christian Academy 63-33 on Saturday afternoon in the regional round.

After a competitive first half, Prestonwood's size proved too much to overcome, as the Lions outscored the Friars 30-12 in the final two quarters.

Led by Londyn Perry and Fre Vowels, Bishop Lynch put together a strong season, winning 20 games despite having a young roster. With this milestone, the Friars have now reached 20 or more wins in 10 consecutive seasons.
