Men’s Basketball Season Ends in Regional Round

DALLAS — For the third consecutive season, the Bishop Lynch men's basketball campaign came to an end against Parish Episcopal School in the TAPPS 6A Regional Round. The Friars fought until the final buzzer but fell to the Panthers, 65-51, inside Panther Gym on Saturday afternoon.

Bishop Lynch found itself in an early deficit, trailing by as many as 19 points after a 23-4 run by Parish to start the game. The Friars responded with grit and determination, battling back to trim the deficit to 28-16 by halftime.

The momentum shifted dramatically in the third quarter when the Friars caught fire from beyond the arc. Bishop Lynch went a perfect 7-for-7 from three-point range and cut the Panthers' lead to just four points, 41-37, late in the quarter. Jagan Thomas and Kemp Dunsavage each knocked down two triples, while Jeremiah Williams, Ishmael Muhammad, and Paxton Scalf added one apiece.

The four-point margin would be as close as the Friars would come. Parish Episcopal outscored Bishop Lynch 15-11 in the final quarter to seal the victory and end the Friars' season in the regional round.

Thomas led Bishop Lynch with 16 points and three rebounds, while Williams closed his outstanding career with an 11-point, seven-assist performance.
