Women's Basketball Season Ends in Semifinals

WACO — The Friars battled hard throughout the game, but shooting struggles kept them from reaching the championship. Bishop Lynch shot just 24% from the field in Waco, a challenge that had surfaced over the past few weeks.

Despite the shooting difficulties, the Friars' defense and effort were exemplary. They limited Prestonwood to 32.6% shooting and forced 17 turnovers, collecting 10 steals on the night led by senior captain Fre Vowels, who finished with three.

Vowels concluded her remarkable Friar career with 11 points, two rebounds, and an assist. Harper Alcantar also scored 11 points, while Eleanor Prosser added eight. Ciara Osuji contributed a strong inside presence with two points, seven rebounds, and two steals.

Vowels will continue her academic and athletic career at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
