Seven Friars Sign to Continue Their Athletic Careers in College

DALLAS — Congratulations to the following seven Bishop Lynch student-athletes on signing to continue their academic and athletic careers at the next level. Bishop Lynch Athletics hosted a ceremony on Wednesday morning to celebrate Iyana Axson, Liam Bell, Abby Galvan, Ishmael Muhammad, Cooper Timmons, Fre Vowels, and Asher Wheatley.

"Undoubtedly, this is an outstanding class of signees, defined by their work ethic, grit, and leadership both in and out of competition," said Director of Athletics Alex Cantillo. "We heard it time and time again this morning: each of these student-athletes embodies the essence of Bishop Lynch Athletics and what it means to be a Bishop Lynch Friar. Embodying that standard, I have faith they'll continue to pursue excellence, serve others, and lead with passion and humility in all they do. We couldn't be more proud of all seven signees and are eager to see the impact they will have as they continue their student-athlete journeys."

We are excited to celebrate our Friar student-athletes who will compete at the collegiate level through a refreshed series of signing events this year. These celebrations blend our long-standing traditions with a new, elevated experience for all families, teammates, and coaches. Please see the updated event schedule below:

Spring Signing Day Ceremony: McGonigle Theatre
Wednesday, April 8 at 7:30 a.m.

BL Collegiate Signee Showcase (new, added celebration): Competition Gym
Thursday, April 23 from 7-9 p.m.

The April 8 ceremony will feature our traditional on-stage recognitions and signings for all student-athletes participating in those events, preserving the format that has made these moments so meaningful for families and community.

The BL Collegiate Signee Showcase on April 23 will build on that foundation, elevating the experience through a premier, community-wide celebration with decorated tables for each signee, food, music, and ample time for fellowship. Our hope is for this evening to grow into a signature Bishop Lynch tradition that all of Friar Nation eagerly anticipates each year. As we approach April, we will share more details regarding event logistics for the showcase so everyone can plan to be part of this special evening.
