Friars Set Up District Title Shot with Road Win in Frisco

FRISCO — The Bishop Lynch men's basketball team took care of business on the road Tuesday night, rolling past Legacy Christian Academy, 69-44, in the Burns Family Gym. With the victory, the Friars put themselves in position to claim a district championship with a six-point win over John Paul II next Tuesday.

Jeremiah Williams and Jagan Thomas continued their dominant stretch, combining for 43 of the Friars' 69 points. Thomas led the way with 23 points and 11 rebounds, recording his 18th double-double of the season. Williams added 20 points on 7-of-16 shooting, marking his 20th game this year with 20 or more points.

While the offense delivered as expected, it was Bishop Lynch's defense and work on the glass that decided the game. The Friars outrebounded the Eagles 37-27, including 21 offensive rebounds that consistently created second-chance opportunities. Ishmael Muhammad pulled down a team-high six offensive boards, while Thomas added five.
