Amie Smith Bradley ’93 inducted into Texas Private School Sports Hall of Fame

DALLAS — Amie Smith Bradley '93 added another honor to her decorated career this past weekend, earning induction into the Texas Private School Sports Hall of Fame.

Smith Bradley joins her former and current Bishop Lynch women's basketball coach Andy Zihlman as the only Friars inducted into the hall of fame, which was established in 2020.

A standout during her time at Bishop Lynch, Smith Bradley was previously inducted into the Bishop Lynch Sports Hall of Fame in 2002. She was also a member of the 1992-93 women's basketball team that was inducted in 2025.

Smith Bradley helped lead the Friars to four state championships during her career and compiled an extensive list of honors. She earned all-state recognition in 1991, 1992 and 1993, and capped her senior season with numerous accolades, including all-district, all-tournament, all-state, all-metro, all-region and player of the year honors. She was also named to the TABC all-state team, academic all-state team, Texas Basketball Magazine all-state team and was recognized as a Kodak All-American nominee and Davey O'Brien Award nominee.

She continued her career at the University of Texas, where she started 114 games and scored 1,228 career points for the Longhorns. She ranks 33rd all-time in scoring, 10th in games started and eighth in rebounding with 940 career rebounds. Smith Bradley is also one of three players in program history to lead the team in rebounding all four years. She earned first-team All-Southwest Conference honors in 1994 and second-team honors in 1997.

Following her playing career, Smith Bradley served as head coach at Trinity University from 2005-12, compiling a 117-70 record with three 20-win seasons and two NCAA Division III playoff appearances. She later worked at the University of Texas as a special assistant for women's basketball and assistant athletic director from 2012-16 before concluding her coaching career at Southern Methodist University, where she served as an assistant coach and associate head coach from 2016-21.

Congratulations to Amie Smith Bradley '93 on this outstanding achievement — a continuation of her Friar legacy.
