Brandon Moats

Brandon Moats was named head football coach at Bishop Lynch High School on Mar. 10, 2021, after spending the previous 10 years as the freshman head coach and varsity assistant. The longtime Bishop Lynch football coach played collegiate football at East Texas A&M University (Formerly Texas A&M-Commerce) before starting his coaching career. Since taking over as head coach, Brandon Moats has reignited the proud tradition of the seven-time state champion program, bringing back a winning culture rooted in pride, toughness, and excellence.

In his first season, Moats took the Friars to the TAPPS state semi-finals with big playoff wins over Concordia Lutheran and Houston St. Thomas after the team went winless the season before. Each season at the helm, the Bishop Lynch football team has won at least one playoff game, including winning home playoff games in back-to-back seasons in 2023 and 2024. 

As head coach, Brandon Moats has coached 16 student-athletes who have gone on to play collegiate football.
