Coach Larry Hendrix is a native of Sherman, Texas and graduate of Sherman High School in 1989 where he was also 1st Team 5-5A ALL District- Defensive Back in 1987 and 1988 also 2nd Team 5A ALL-State- Defensive Backs in 1988. Larry went on to attend and play his freshman year at Louisiana State University. Larry than transferred to Cisco Junior College where he received his Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice in 1991. Mr. Hendrix than went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Sports Management with an emphasis Health, Sports Administration and minor in Counseling from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO in 1995 where he was the 1993 and 1994 1st Team All-MIAA- Defensive back and 1994 2nd Team All-American NCAA II Defensive back. Mr. Hendrix has also played professionally for 5 years and coached professionally for over 15 years.
Mr. Hendrix want to play one year with the Indianapolis Colts in in 1995 and for the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL in 1996. Larry retired from playing professional football in1997. Then came out of retirement to played Defensive back/ Wide Receiver for the Oklahoma Crude of the National Indoor Football League (NIFL) 2001-2002 and Defensive back/ Wide Receiver for the Texas Thunder American Professional Football League (APFL) 2004. Coach Hendrix coached professionally in 2002 as Defensive Coordinator for the Oklahoma Crude National Indoor Football League (NIFL), Defensive Backs Coach Texas Regulators in 2007(APFL), Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator for North Texas Crunch Professional Indoor Football Team from 2008 to 2010, 2014 -2015, Where he also won four Championships in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2013. He went on to be Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator for the Bricktown Brawlers in 2011 of the Indoor Football League (IFL) and Head Coach for the Dallas Marshals Professional Indoor Football Team 2016, 2017 and 2018 of Champions Indoor Football League (CIF). Larry was the Defensive Coordinator for the Quad City Steamwheelers (IFL) in 2019, Defensive Coordinator for North Texas Bulls (AAF) in 2022, Defensive Coordinator for the Tucson Sugarskulls (IFL) in 2023 and the Defensive Coordinator for the Quad City Steamwheelers (IFL) in 2024. Coach Hendrix than coached for five years (2016 to 2021) at Prince Peace Christian School where he served at the School as the Defensive Backs Coach than Offensive Coordinator. Coach also coaches at Bishop Lynch High School as the Special Team Coordinator, Secondary Coach and JV Head Coach (2021 to Present). Coach Hendrix has been married to his wife Kecia Hendrix for 30 years. They have two daughters Ta’Niqua (32), J’Shaye (29), son Kiewan (26) and seven grandchildren.
