Kyle May '03

Kyle May began teaching and coaching at Bishop Lynch in 2009 and became the head coach in 2013. With a career record of 285-156 – Coach May became the most winningest coach in Bishop Lynch Boy’s Basketball History in 2023. He has been named District Coach of the Year for four of the last seven seasons. He has led the team to four district titles (2016-2019, 2025), with two State Finals appearances in 2017 and 2021. Prior to coaching at BL, he was on the coaching staff at Texas A&M University-Commerce where he earned his Master’s in Sports Science (2010).

His personal accolades include Team Captain, All-State, All-District and State Champion (2002) as a player at Bishop Lynch High School, and Captain, All-Conference (2004-2007), graduating as Top 5 All-Time in Assists while at Austin College. He was a 4-year starter at Austin College, where he earned his degree in 2007. In 2021, Coach May was named the Austin College Alumni Coach of the Year. Coach May enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his wife, Becca, and three children – Wesley, Josephine, and Walker.
