DALLAS — Senior Night was spoiled by rival Ursuline, who came and left with a 3-0 sweep of the Lady Friars on Thursday, but Bishop Lynch is putting that in the past and focusing on the TAPPS 6A Playoffs, which begin this Thursday at Fort Worth All Saints.

A win over Ursuline would have given the Lady Friars (18-14, 4-6) the third seed in the district and a first-round bye, but instead they'll head to Fort Worth as the fifth seed and take on All Saints in a bi-district playoff match scheduled for 6:30 pm.

Parish Episcopal finished 10-0 in league play to win the district title. The Panthers await the winner of Bishop Lynch and All Saints in the area playoff round, tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 29. Other area matchups include John Paul II at Liberty Christian, Ursuline at Midland Christian, and runner-up Prestonwood Christian hosting TCA-Addison.

Ursuline took the district finale in the Competition Gym by scores of 25-22, 25-20, and 25-18. Bishop Lynch struggled on the attack, hitting just .063 percent in the contest with 25 kills and 19 errors on 95 attempts.

Lyric Berry, Ashlyn Zilliken, Leah Oyewole and Emily Castleman each finished with four kills. Berry also had a team-high four blocks. Alex Galicia (13) and Elizabeth Edwards (11) led in assists, and Sydney Broussard (12), and Charlotte Hain (11) paced the team in digs.
