Box Score 4 A busy weekend saw the Bishop Lynch volleyball team sweep three matches Saturday and claim the Silver Bracket title at the Nike ASC/LISD Classic in Carrollton.
The Friars (4-4) opened pool play Friday with a 2-0 win over Azle, then dropped a 2-0 decision to eventual pool winner McKinney North before finishing the day with a 2-1 loss to Plano, putting the Friars third in the group.
The girls regrouped the next day and swept Lewisville, McKinney, and Episcopal School of Dallas to take the championship in the Silver bracket.
Bishop Lynch opened their home schedule last night against nationally-ranked Plano West, who entered with a 7-0 record and No. 2 state ranking in UIL 6A. Plano West bested the Friars in straight sets, 25-12, 25-14, and 25-16.
The Friars compete in the 2019 Texas Open in Allen starting with pool play on Friday, where the ladies will face Hillcrest at 9:00 am, Frisco Centennial at 11:30 am, and El Paso Eastwood at 2:00 pm.
Bishop Lynch returns home Tuesday, Aug. 27 for a doubleheader with Rockwall-Heath and Naaman Forest at 5:00 and 6:30 pm.
