ARGYLE – Bishop Lynch traveled to Argyle to face off against Liberty Christian last Friday in their regular-season finale. The Friars (0-5) went into the game against Liberty (1-6) with playoff implications still up in the air. Argyle pulled out the victory 35-21 in what was a hard-fought game.
The Friars offense had two 100-yard rushers in
Cort Doyle (112, two touchdowns) and
Isaiah Schmidtke (106, one touchdown) for the first time this season. Senior quarterback
Michael Light added 172 yards in the air.
Defensively, the Friars continued to create turnovers as they forced three against Liberty Christian.
Bryson Werntz and
Ben Haynes each recovered a fumble, and Schmidtke added an interception to his big rushing night.
Logan Monroe led the team in tackles with 16, and Doyle was right behind him with 14.
Bishop Lynch will take on Parish Episcopal in the first round of TAPPS 6A playoffs on Friday, November 20th, at 7:00 PM at Parish. Parish defeated the Friars in the first game of the season, 43-7.
