Bishop Lynch High School is excited to announce that Shea Jenkins will be the new head coach for the Bishop Lynch Volleyball (BLVB) program. Coach Jenkins has served as the program's interim head coach since early May and has excelled in this leadership role.
Coach Jenkins has served as a BLVB assistant varsity coach for the past four seasons where he has been instrumental in providing technical and formative guidance to our Friar student-athletes. Since May, Coach Jenkins has fulfilled all scheduling responsibilities for the 2021 season and overseen multiple volleyball camps and open gyms on campus.
BL Director of Athletics Allie Tennyson is confident that Coach Jenkins' appointment to the head coaching role will continue BLVB's success on the court while emphasizing BL's mission-centric focus in the total formation of our volleyball student-athletes.
"Coach Jenkins has shown tremendous leadership while serving as the interim head volleyball coach. His technical know-how, indomitable spirit and ability to lead – both his coaching staff and our Friar student-athletes – gives me complete confidence that he will uphold our volleyball program's tradition of excellence," said Tennyson.
There are more than 50 Friar student-athletes on BLVB's freshman, sophomore, junior varsity, and varsity volleyball teams. The Bishop Lynch varsity volleyball team kicks off the 2021 season Aug. 17 with a home opener against Liberty Christian.
