ARGYLE - After a very successful
Marcus Showcase last weekend, the Friars didn't slow down as they swept Liberty Christian 3-0 on their home court. This is the Friars' first victory over the Lady Warriors since 2017.
Though the Friars won the game 3-0, they didn't play their most clean game on the offensive side. In the first two sets, the Friars had more hitting errors than the Warriors, but with good defense and serving, they took the first two sets 25-20 and 25-16. Bishop Lynch outserved Liberty Christian by a significant margin, getting nine aces to their one.
In the third set, the Friars finally found their swing, hitting a combined .334 hitting percentage on 13 kills, leading to a 25-15 win.

Lyric Berry and
Paloma Gonzalez had three kills each in the third set. Oyewole had one of her best matches of the year, converting eight kills with a .533 hitting percentage and committing zero hitting errors.
Lauryn Lambert continues to lead the team in kills, having a game-high nine kills on Wednesday night. She has a total of 92 kills so far in the young season.
The Friars will go back to tournament play this weekend as they will participate in the vaunted Allen Tournament on Friday and Saturday. Their Friday matches will be against Plano, The Colony and Wylie East.
