Bishop Lynch sweeps TCA on senior night

DALLAS, TX -- It can be wild how fast a season can go by. The Bishop Lynch volleyball team played their last regular season home game last night hosting Trinity Christian Academy. The Friars were able to play their way to a 3-0 victory over the Trojans as they celebrated senior night.

With 10 seniors on the team this year, Head Coach Shea Jenkins was able to play the entire match with just the seniors. It was a joyous night from start to finish as we celebrated the seniors and their families in a pre-game ceremony.

All 10 seniors not only got to see action, but they played well. Every athlete recorded at least one kill and nine recorded at least one dig. Riley Seitz and Molly Moreland led the team in kills with seven and six, while the entire team had an outstanding night swinging with a hitting percentage of .326.

Congratulations to the class of 2024 seniors in the volleyball program: Molly Moreland, Delaney Moon, Claire Hatfield, Riley Seitz, Meredith Scheel, Cate Hatfield, Paloma Gonzalez, Maddie Gappelberg, Hannah Rodrigues, and Avery Seitz.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The first set was the closest of the night with the Friars winning 25-16. Claire Hatfield led the team in kills with three while Moreland, Seitz, Cate Hatfield, and Riley Seitz all had two. Delaney Moon recorded four of her game-high 16 digs.

The second set was BL's best statistical set of the match as the team hit .406 with 15 kills on their way to the 25-7 win. Meredith Scheel had a career-high three kills in the set with Moreland, Seitz, and Paloma Gonzalez each recording three.

The Friars serve won them the third and final set. Cate Hatfield showed off her impressive jump serve that led to four of her game-high six aces. Maddie Gappelberg and Scheel each recorded an ace as well. Six aces combined with 17 digs, the Friars took the final set 25-13 to complete the sweep.
