Winter sports around Bishop Lynch usually means weekend tournaments and games. This past weekend was no different as the men's basketball, women's basketball, and wrestling programs all competed while the brigade hosted their annual Christmas Bazaar and the football program held their end-of-the-year banquet.
Each team found much success in their sport as you will see below.
Men's Basketball
Three of the men's basketball programs traveled to Irving to take on Cistercian Preparatory. All three teams came home with a victory as the varsity won 60-42, the junior varsity won 67-39 and the freshman won by 20 points. The backcourt for the varsity team had another stellar game withÂ
Devin Miller and
Baker Trent combining for 29 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists.
The junior varsity 2 team continued their hot play by winning the Prince of Peace Shootout by defeating both Fort Worth Christian (38-30) and Prince of Peace (60-50).
Women's Basketball
Women's basketball had the opportunity to head southbound on I45 to take on the undefeated Falcons from the Kinkaid School. The Friars found themselves in an early deficit but used a great second half to get the 42-41 victory.
Aliyah Goins got her first start of the year and the senior finished with a team high in points with 11 while also grabbing six rebounds.
Wrestling
The wrestling program took part in a two-day tournament at RL Turner over the weekend. This tournament had many big schools from across the metroplex and both the men's and women's teams did very well. The men finished third out of the 30 teams with
Walker Walls,
Harrison Jackson, and
Josh Bazaldua all finishing first in their weight class. Tate DeVoss finished fourth in his.
The women finished sixth out of 26 teams with
Emma Mullman finishing second, Jocelyn finishing third and
