Estes' Career Night Leads Friars to Playoff Victory

DALLAS, TX -- William Estes had a stellar performance last Friday, rushing for 179 yards and scoring four touchdowns to propel the Bishop Lynch Friars to a commanding 35-7 victory over Concordia Lutheran in the TAPPS Area Playoffs.

Alec Salazar added to the Friars' momentum with a 65-yard interception returned for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, putting the game out of reach.

The Friars (6-5) controlled the game early, leading 20-0 at halftime and extending their advantage to 28 points in the third quarter. Concordia Lutheran (7-4) managed a single touchdown off a tipped pass, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Friars' dominance.

In addition to his pick-six, Salazar tallied eight tackles. Sophomore standout Alex Finley led the team with 10 tackles, as the Friars' defense registered five tackles for loss, their highest since the Homecoming win against Trinity Christian Academy.

NEXT UP:
The Friars advance to the regional round, facing top-ranked Liberty Christian. The game is scheduled for Friday, November 22, at 7 p.m. CT in Warrior Stadium.
