HOW IT HAPPENED
Yesterday was senior night, and Head Coach
Andy Zihlman's starting were all members of the Class of 2024. They got off to a quick start, especially
Aliyah Goins who scored six of Bishop Lynch's 13 first-quarter points. She also added four rebounds in the quarter to help the Friars take a 13-9 lead after one.
The second quarter was Thackston's best quarter of the game as she hit two of her four three-pointers in the quarter and posted a +14 while she was on the court. The Bishop Lynch defense held Parish to just 1-12 shooting in the quarter, extending their lead to 31-13 at the half.
The third and fourth quarters were much of the same with the Friars holding Parish to single-digit scoring in both quarters on 6-20 (30%) shooting. The great defense led to easy buckets as BL scored 12 transition points in the second half alone, leading to the 30-point victory.
