DALLAS, TX -- Bishop Lynch High School (TAPPS 1-District 1) will host the 2024 season opener against Bishop Dunne High School (TAPPS 2-District 2) at 7:30 p.m. CT tonight in Roffino Stadium.

History:
Bishop Lynch and Bishop Dunne have met 47 times on the gridiron since 1965. The Friars hold a 27-17-3 advantage, though the Falcons are 6-4 in the last ten games.

Players to Watch:
Bishop Dunne:
Myles Jackson: The Honorable Mention All-State senior running back from last year will lead the Falcon offense in 2024. Last season, Jackson rushed for 790 yards and six touchdowns.

Paul Geary: Geary has played on varsity since his freshman year, and the senior linebacker will lead the Flacon defense in 2024. He has accumulated 118 total tackles, 33 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks in his career.

Bishop Lynch:
#2 Aiden McGinnis: The senior wide-out has loads of experience for the Friars, playing in 18 total career games. With Matias Leon starting his first career under center, look for McGinnis as a safety net for the signal-caller.

#11 Christian Smith: A new face to the Friars, Smith will look to make an immediate impact on the defensive line. He will make any offensive tackle jittery before each snap with his strength and size.

Keys to the Game:
Bishop Dunne: The Falcons had a similar season to the Friars last year, going 3-7. To start the season on a high note, they must control the line of scrimmage against the Friars. If they can slow down the Friar run game while shorting it on offense, this could be a tight finish Friday night.

Bishop Lynch: The Friars return much of their production from last season. Though it didn't end well on paper, the offense averaged 27.25 points per game, with many top contributors returning on offense and a defense that returns seven starters, including the entire secondary.
