Zach Charles announced as new Assistant Director of Athletics

Bishop Lynch High School has named Zach Charles '13 as the school's new assistant director of athletics. Charles has been an assistant to the varsity men's basketball program since last season and is the freshman head coach this year.

Charles spent five years before coming to Bishop Lynch playing overseas, with stops in Denmark and Sweden. His most recent season was in Gmunden, Austria, where he contributed to the most successful season in the club's history, winning the 2023 Austrian Supercup and the Win2Day Superliga Championship.

He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University, where he started 47 of 61 games during his junior and senior seasons, earning his degree in 2018.

"We are excited to have Zach join the athletics office as the assistant director of athletics. He brings a strong blend of professional experiences that have primed him for great success in this administrative role," said Director of Athletics Alex Cantillo. "Having been a former Bishop Lynch athlete himself, Zach fully understands our school's culture and mission. More than that, he brings high character and a commitment to leading, mentoring, and positively influencing the next generation of athletes toward future success. We are eager to see the tremendous work he does as a leader at Bishop Lynch."
