Fourth-Quarter Woes Lead to Second District Loss

DALLAS, Texas -- The Bishop Lynch women's basketball team dropped a tough game to John Paul II, 42-32, last night in the Competition Gym. Despite leading heading into the fourth quarter, the Friars were outscored 14-2 in the final frame, resulting in their second district loss.

This game was eerily similar to the Friars' matchup against Prestonwood Christian, a contest they also led going into the fourth quarter but ultimately lost 50-43 after being outscored 15-3. Bishop Lynch has demonstrated the ability to compete well in these games; they just need to focus on closing them out.

A highlight from last night's contest was the performance of Addy Flowers. The freshman led the team in scoring with 11 points while making an impact across the court. She played exceptional defense resulting in two steals, and recorded a team-high seven rebounds. Flowers also added two assists in what was the best game of her young career.

Before last night's game, Head Coach Andy Zihlman and the Bishop Lynch Athletic Department honored junior Fre Vowels with a plaque commemorating her 1,000th career point. Fre's milestone is a testament to her dedication, skill, and relentless effort on the court. This incredible achievement highlights not only her talent but also her unwavering commitment to the Friars' basketball program. Congratulations, Fre, on this outstanding accomplishment—your Bishop Lynch family is incredibly proud of you!
