Bernabe’s Hat Trick Leads Friars to Season-Opening Victory

DALLAS – Senior forward Moises Bernabe delivered an offensive masterpiece as Bishop Lynch rolled past Brighter Horizons, 7-0, on Thursday night at Roffino Stadium. Bernabe netted his first career hat trick, scoring the first three goals for the Friars as they opened the season in dominant fashion.

Goals (Assists)
34' Bishop Lynch - Bernabe (Julian Neuman)
47' Bishop Lynch - Bernabe (Geovany Flores)
55' Bishop Lynch - Bernabe (Jack DeSmeth)
62' Bishop Lynch - Noah Chac (Neuman)
65' Bishop Lynch - Conor Stubbings (Chac)
68' Bishop Lynch - DeSmeth (Sebastian Perdomo)
75' Bishop Lynch - Xavi Dermarkar (Perdomo)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Friars controlled 58% of the possession in the first half but couldn't break through until the 34th minute. After a quick passing sequence, Julian Neuman found Bernabe inside the 18-yard box, and the senior calmly finished to give Bishop Lynch its first goal of the season.

At halftime, the Friars led 1-0, outshooting Brighter Horizons 8–2 while completing 130 passes to their 57.

Once Bernabe opened the scoring, the floodgates followed. The senior forward added two more goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half to complete his hat trick and extend the lead to 3-0.

From there, the offense stayed relentless — Noah Chac, Conor Stubbings, Jack DeSmeth, and Xavi Dermarkar each found the back of the net as Bishop Lynch pulled away for a 7-0 season-opening win.

WITH THE WIN:
  • The Friars have won three consecutive season openers
  • Bishop Lynch improves to 2-0 all-time against Brighter Horizons
  • Head Coach Stewart Brown earned his 20th career victory at Bishop Lynch
