Next Level Friars: Volume 25/26, Issue 2

Every couple of weeks, we will provide updates on our Friars competing in collegiate athletics. This second edition highlights our Next Level Friars competing in football, soccer, swimming, and volleyball.

Football

Ayden Howard '20 – Villanova University (3-2): Howard has played in all five games for the Wildcats this season on the defensive line, recording 16 tackles.

Justin Lawrence '22 – Colgate University (2-3): Lawrence has seen action in one game this season, against Syracuse on 9/12.

Kason McFadden '22 – Wisconsin Lutheran College (1-3): McFadden has played in all four games for the Warriors as a defensive back, recording 10 tackles and one interception.

Ethan Morrison '22 – DePauw University (5-0): Morrison has not seen action for the Tigers this season.

Isaiah Schmidtke '22 – Ohio Dominican University (2-2): Schmidtke has played in three games for ODU as running back, recording 85 rushing yards on 16 carries.

Jeremiah Williams '22 – Rice University (3-3): Williams has not seen action for the Owls this season.

Cooper Alford '23 – The University of the South (2-2): Alford has played in all four games for the Tigers this season at tight end, recording nine receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown.

Zachery Curtis '23 – Lamar University (4-1): Curtis has appeared in three games for the Cardinals this season on the offensive line.

Godswill Giadolor '24 – Coffeyville Community College (2-2): Giadolor has not seen action for the Red Ravens this season.

Jordan Hooks '24 – Sul Ross State University (0-5): Hooks has played in all five games for Sul Ross on the defensive line, recording six tackles.

Luis Moreno '24 – Trinity Valley Community College (4-1): Moreno has played in four games for the Cardinals this season on the offensive line.

Will Estes '25 – Northeastern State University (2-3): Estes has not seen action for the Riverhawks this season.

John Medaris '25 – Schreiner University (2-0): We are still working to collect stats on Medaris and the Schreiner football program.

 

Men's Soccer

Lucas Martinez '25 – University of Dallas (0-9-1): Martinez has played in two matches for the Crusaders this season, logging 44 total minutes.
 

Women's Soccer

Keanne Alamo '22 – Hardin-Simmons University (7-1-2): Alamo has played in seven matches, including two starts, for HSU, recording one goal and one assist in 266 minutes.

Emily Lozano '22 – Millsaps College (2-7-2): Lozano has started in 10 matches matches for Millsaps at goalkeeper, recording 95 saves and one clean sheet.

Kaitlyn Osorio '22 – Wheeling University (2-4-3): Osorio has played and started in four matches matches for Wheeling. recording one goal in 308 minutes.

Alyx Beard '23 – Delaware State University (3-7-3): Beard has appeared in eight matches for the Hornets, recording three shots on goal in 111 minutes.

Valerie Veloz '23 – MidAmerica Nazarene University (8-2): Veloz has played in 10 matches, including nine starts, this season for MANU, recording one shot on goal in 722 minutes.

Lily Bracken '24 – Trinity College (4-3-2): Bracken has started in all nine matches for Trinity at goalkeeper, recording 36 saves and six clean sheets.

Bella Alamo '25 – Houston Christian University (6-6-1): Alamo has played in 12 matches this season, including nine starts, for HCU, recording one assist and seven shots on goal in 687 minutes.

Alicia Gonzalez '25 – Robert Morris University (3-6-2): Gonzalez has not seen action for the Colonials this season.

 

Volleyball

Kylee Connally '22 – University of Hartford (3-10): Connally has played in 44 sets for Hartford this season, recording 208 assists and 69 digs.

Lyric Berry '23 – Providence College (10-7): Berry has played 62 sets for the Friars this season, recording 94 kills and 88 blocks.

Liya Girma '23 – Plattsburgh State (7-8): Girma has played 54 sets for the Cardinals this season, recording 155 kills, 122 digs, and 34 aces. She was named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Offensive Athlete of the Week in early October.

Leah Oyewole '23 – Washington University in St. Louis (14-3): Oyewole has played 65 sets for Bears this season, recording 241 kills and 40 digs.

Cate Hatfield '24 – William & Mary (6-9): Hatfield has played in seven sets for the Tribe this season, recording 25 assists and 12 digs.

Paloma Gonzalez Jaramillo '24 – Saint Francis University (10-6): Gonzalez Jaramillo has played in 49 sets for the SFU this season, recording 99 kills and 46 digs.

Delaney Moon '24 – Fairfield University (11-4): Moon has played in 48 sets for Fairfield this season, recording 109 digs and 40 assists.

Aven Crosby '25 – Northeastern University (5-8): Crosby has played in 30 sets for Northeastern this season, recording 33 digs and eight assists.

Maddie Smotherman '25 – Texas Tech University (8-8): Smotherman has played in 19 sets for the Red Raiders this season, recording six digs and one ace.

Ava Wennerstrom '25 – Menlo College (4-9): Wennerstrom has played in eight sets for Menlo this season, recording five digs and one ace.

 

Women's Swimming

Stella Todd '22 – Texas Christian University: Todd and the Horned Frogs won their first meet of the season with a 237-70 victory over Incarnate Word.

Phoebe Johnson '24 – Tulane University: Johnson and Tulane open up their season this weekend as they host Liberty University.

Amie Perna '24 – Purdue University: Perna and the Boilermakers open up their season this weekend as they participate in the Dan Ross Indiana Intercollegiate hosted at Purdue.

Hanna Whitney '24 – St. Louis University: Whitney and the Billikens are 2-0 on the season, with wins over Washington University and UMSL.

Caroline Ellis '25 – Centre College: Ellis and Centre open up their season this weekend as they travel to Berry College.
