Every couple of weeks, we will provide updates on our Friars competing in collegiate athletics. This second edition highlights our Next Level Friars competing in football, soccer, swimming, volleyball, and basketball

Football

In Season:
Ayden Howard '20 – Villanova University (9-2): Howard has played in all 11 games for the Wildcats this season on the defensive line, recording 25 tackles and one pass breakup.

Ethan Morrison '22 – DePauw University (9-1): Morrison has not seen action for the Tigers this season.

Jeremiah Williams '22 – Rice University (5-6): Williams has not seen action for the Owls this season.

Zachery Curtis '23 – Lamar University (8-4): Curtis has appeared in six games for the Cardinals this season on the offensive line.

Will Estes '25 – Northeastern State University (8-3): Estes has not seen action for the Riverhawks this season.

John Medaris '25 – Schreiner University (5-0): Medaris has played in five games for the Mountaineers this season as a defensive back.

Season Complete:

Justin Lawrence '22 – Colgate University (5-7): Lawrence has seen action in one game this season, against Syracuse on 9/12.

Kason McFadden '22 – Wisconsin Lutheran College (5-5): McFadden played in all 10 games for the Warriors as a defensive back, recording 29 tackles and one interception.

Isaiah Schmidtke '22 – Ohio Dominican University (5-5): Schmidtke played in five games for ODU as a running back, recording 96 rushing yards on 19 carries.

Cooper Alford '23 – The University of the South (3-7): Alford played in eight games for the Tigers this season at tight end, recording 10 receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown.

Jordan Hooks '24 – Sul Ross State University (0-11): Hooks has played in 10 games for Sul Ross on the defensive line, recording 12 tackles.

Luis Moreno '24 – Trinity Valley Community College (7-3): Moreno played in 10 games for the Cardinals this season on the offensive line.

 

Men's Soccer

Season Complete:
Lucas Martinez '25 – University of Dallas (0-16-1): Martinez played in three matches for the Crusaders this season, logging 54 total minutes.

 

Women's Soccer

In Season:
Valerie Veloz '23 – MidAmerica Nazarene University (13-3-2): Veloz has played in 17 matches, including 16 starts, this season for MANU, recording three shots on goal in 1,268 minutes.

Season Complete:
Keanne Alamo '22 – Hardin-Simmons University (11-4-2): Alamo played in seven matches, including two starts, for HSU, recording one goal and one assist in 266 minutes.

Emily Lozano '22 – Millsaps College (2-13-2): Lozano started in 16 matches for Millsaps as a goalkeeper, recording 170 saves and one clean sheet.

Kaitlyn Osorio '22 - Wheeling University (3-11-4): Osorio played and started in four matches for Wheeling. recording one goal in 308 minutes.

Alyx Beard '23 – Delaware State University (6-10-3): Beard played in 12 matches for the Hornets, recording three shots on goal in 146 minutes.

Lily Bracken '24 – Trinity College (6-7-2): Bracken has started in 15 matches for Trinity as a goalkeeper, recording 59 saves and seven clean sheets.

Bella Alamo '25 – Houston Christian University (12-9-2): Alamo played in 22 matches this season, including 17 starts, for HCU this season, recording three assists and 12 shots on goal in 1,292 minutes.

Alicia Gonzalez '25 – Robert Morris University (4-9-4): Gonzalez did not see action for the Colonials this season.

Volleyball

In Season:
Delaney Moon '24 – Fairfield University (25-5): Moon has played in 90 sets for Fairfield this season, recording 239 digs and 75 assists.

Maddie Smotherman '25 – Texas Tech University (10-18): Smotherman has played in 60 sets for the Red Raiders this season, recording 62 digs and nine aces.

Season Complete:
Kylee Connally '22 – University of Hartford (7-16): Connally played in 76 sets for Hartford this season, recording 340 assists and 109 digs.

Lyric Berry '23 – Providence College (12-17): Berry played in 106 sets for the Friars this season, recording 153 kills and 126 blocks.

Liya Girma '23 – Plattsburgh State (9-16): Girma played in 91 sets for the Cardinals this season, recording 261 kills, 230 digs, and 49 aces.

Leah Oyewole '23 – Washington University in St. Louis (24-9): Oyewole played 120 sets for the Bears this season, recording 447 kills and 83 digs.

Cate Hatfield '24 – William & Mary (12-15): Hatfield played in seven sets for the Tribe this season, recording 25 assists and 12 digs.

Paloma Gonzalez Jaramillo '24 – Saint Francis University (20-9): Gonzalez Jaramillo has played in 99 sets for the SFU this season, recording 224 kills and 62 digs.

Aven Crosby '25 – Northeastern University (9-16): Crosby played in 48 sets for Northeastern this season, recording 39 digs and eight assists.

Ava Wennerstrom '25 – Menlo College (9-16): Wennerstrom played in 37 sets for Menlo this season, recording 40 digs.

 

Women's Swimming

In Season:
Stella Todd '22 – Texas Christian University: Todd and the Horned Frogs continue their season against Oklahoma Christian on December 13 in Fort Worth.

Phoebe Johnson '24 – Tulane University: Johnson and Tulane continue their season against UNLV on December 15 in Las Vegas.

Amie Perna '24 – Purdue University: Perna and the Boilermakers continue their season against Illinois on January 10 in West Lafayette.

Hanna Whitney '24 – St. Louis University: Whitney and the Billikens continue their season against Omaha on January 16 in St. Louis.

Caroline Ellis '25 – Centre College: Ellis and Centre continue their season at the Colonel Classic on January 9th in Danville. 

 

Men's Basketball

In Season:
Grayson Bell '22 – Dallas Christian College (4-6): Bell has played in nine games for DCC this season, averaging 8.8 points and 2.9 rebounds.

Sean Calloway '22 – Howard Payne University (5-2): Calloway has played in one game for the Buzzsaws this season, averaging 4.0 points and 1.0 assists.

Logan Epes '22 – Missouri State University (3-3): Epes has played in five games for the Bears this season, averaging 2.2 points and 2.4 rebounds.

Aiden Schnurr '23 – Austin College (1-3): Schnurr has played in four games for the Roos this season, averaging 10.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists.

Nathan Day '25 – Adams State University (4-1): Day has not seen action for Adams State this season. 

 

Women's Basketball

In Season:
Paige Bradley '21 – Coastal Carolina University (3-4): Bradley has played in seven games for Coastal Carolina this season, averaging 5.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists.

Ayen Angoi '22 – Hofstra University (1-3): Angoi has played in three games for The Pride this season, averaging 7.0 points and 4.5 rebounds. 

Madison Cockrell '22 – University of Incarnate Word (1-4): Cockrell has played in four games for the Cardinals this season, averaging 7.8 points, 5.3 assists, and 5.0 rebounds.

Natalie Cardenas '23 – Henderson State University (3-0): Cardenas has played in two games for the Reddies this season, averaging 21.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists.

Maddie Heiss '23 – Wofford College (2-4): Heiss has played in four games for Wofford this season, averaging 10.5 points and 4.3 rebounds.
 
Adriana Medina '24 – University of Dallas (1-5): Medina has played in five games for the Crusaders this season, averaging 3.4 points.

Ellery Sample '24 – University of Texas at Dallas (1-3): Sample has not seen action for the Comets this season.

Londyn Perry '25 – Bates College (4-0): Perry has played in three games for Bates this season, averaging 1.7 points and 1.3 assists.
