Bishop Lynch Defeats Bishop Dunne 3–0

DALLAS — In their final match of the 2025 calendar year, the Bishop Lynch men's soccer team closed out the year in style with a 3–0 victory over Bishop Dunne on Wednesday night at Earl Hayes Stadium. It was the first meeting between the Friars and Falcons since the 2019–2020 season—a series the Friars also swept that year.

Freshman Raphael Reagins delivered the breakout performance of his young career, finishing with one goal, one assist, and a drawn penalty that set up the Friars' third score.

Goals (Assists)
26' Bishop Lynch - Jack DeSmeth (Raphael Reagins)
36' Bishop Lynch - Raphael Reagins (Moises Bernabe)
68' Bishop Lynch - Gaby Bonet (PK)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The match began at a slower pace than many of Bishop Lynch's recent contests, with both sides trading possession in the opening 20 minutes. That changed in the 26th minute when Reagins burst down the left flank and whipped a driven cross into the box. Jack DeSmeth met it cleanly, slotting the ball past the Falcon goalkeeper for the 1–0 lead.

Just before halftime, the Friars doubled their advantage. Moises Bernabe delivered a perfectly weighted through ball to Reagins, who buried his shot into the upper 90 to make it 2–0 heading into the break.

In the second half, Reagins continued to cause problems for the Dunne defense. His footwork inside the box drew a foul in the 68th minute, and Gaby Bonet calmly converted the ensuing penalty kick to push the lead to 3–0, the final score of the night.

WITH THE WIN:
  • Bishop Lynch improves to 5-2-1 on the season, outscoring their opponents 24-9
  • The Friars have scored 3 or more goals in six of the eight matches they have played.
NEXT UP:
The Friars return to action in the new year as they open TAPPS district play against Legacy Christian on Thursday, January 8, at Roffino Stadium. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
