Friars Run Panthers Out of the Gym in Home Opener

DALLAS – Eleanor Prosser's game-high 16 points powered the Bishop Lynch women's basketball team to a commanding 50-23 victory over Parish Episcopal on Tuesday night in the Competition Gym. Despite already having 13 games under their belt, this was the Friars' long-awaited home opener—and they delivered in emphatic fashion.

A major factor in the dominant performance was Bishop Lynch's presence in the paint. The Friars doubled up the Panthers 20-10 in interior scoring, led by strong efforts from Prosser, Abby Galvan, and Kate Webb. Galvan turned in a career night with nine points and eight rebounds, while Webb added four points and six boards.

From the perimeter, the Friars also showcased impressive balance. Five different players knocked down a three-pointer— a season high. Prosser hit two, while Avery Billotte, Galvan, Fre Vowels, and Harper Alcantar each connected from deep.

POSTGAME NOTES
  • Bishop Lynch improves its all-time record against Parish Episcopal to 23-1, extending its current winning streak in the series to 14 games. 
  • With seven points on Tuesday night, Billotte became the third Friar to reach 100 points this season, now sitting at 103. Vowels (174) and Prosser (153) are the others to surpass the mark. 
  • Bishop Lynch wins its home opener and improves to 4-2 in home openers since 2020. 
  • The Friars' starting lineup featured Avery Billotte, Fre Vowels, Lily Reyes, Eleanor Prosser, and Kate Webb.

Bishop Lynch hosts the Knights of Columbus Tournament from December 4–6. The Friars open play on Thursday against Nimitz, with tipoff set for 6:00 p.m. in the Competition Gym.
