Bishop Lynch Cruises to Regional Round with Win Over TCA

DALLAS, Texas — Entering their area playoff match as heavy favorites, Bishop Lynch lived up to expectations with a commanding 3-0 victory over Trinity Christian Academy on Monday night at Roffino Stadium.

The final score didn't fully reflect the Friars' dominance, as they controlled possession for 67% of the match and out-passed the Trojans 285-40. That precision led to a staggering 30 shots for Bishop Lynch, while TCA managed just one all night.

Bella Alamo was the star of the match, playing a role in all three Friars' goals. The lone first-half goal came from a penalty kick after Alamo was fouled in the box. She stepped up confidently and buried the shot into the back of the net, giving Bishop Lynch a 1-0 lead.

In the second half, Alamo provided assists on both Friars' goals. First, she connected with Madison Murphy, who has emerged as an offensive threat late in the season. Alamo found Murphy at the top of the box, where she unleashed a powerful right-footed strike past the keeper to extend the lead to 2-0.

Near the end of the match, Serenity Collins found Alamo inside the six-yard box. Alamo then delivered a precise pass past the keeper to Leticia Arellano, who finished into an open net to seal the 3-0 victory.

Bishop Lynch will travel to North Dallas to face District I champion Parish Episcopal in the TAPPS Division I regional round. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27, at Gloria H. Snyder Stadium.
