Volleyball Off to Best Start Since 2018 With Sweep of Neighborhood Rival

DALLAS — The Bishop Lynch volleyball team improved to 5-1 with a sweep of Bryan Adams (1-2) on Tuesday night at Bryan Adams High School. The 5-1 start is the program's best since 2018.

Match Highlights:

Maia Raleigh appeared in her 50th career match for the Friars.
The Friars posted a season-high 13 aces.
Seven Friars recorded four or more kills.
Suzanna Hughes tallied a career- and team-high 17 assists.

As a team, the Friars hit .287 with 42 kills against just 11 errors. Seven Friars hit .389 or better, led by Charlie Wells and Aliyah Bruner at .600. Emory Mooney and Camila Figueroa paced the offense with seven kills each, while Maddie Sue Pflum added six.

Bishop Lynch kept stacking up the kills behind great setting from Hughes and Raleigh. Hughes led with 17 assists, while Raleigh followed closely with 15.

From the service line, the Friars delivered a season-best 13 aces, highlighted by Figueroa's team-high four. Pflum added three more to keep the pressure on Bryan Adams.

SUB-VARSITY RESULTS:
Bishop Lynch's sub-varsity teams once again turned in a perfect night. The freshman, junior varsity 2, and junior varsity 1 squads each earned 2-0 sweeps to remain undefeated this season.

NEXT UP:
The Friars return to action Friday at the annual Allen Texas Open. They begin pool play at 10:15 a.m. against The Colony, Richardson, and Frisco Memorial.
