Next Level Friars: Volume 25/26, Issue 1

Each month, we will provide updates on our Friars competing in collegiate athletics. This first edition highlights our Next Level Friars competing in football, soccer, and volleyball.

Football

Ayden Howard '20 – Villanova University (1-1): Howard has started both games for the Wildcats this season on the defensive line, recording seven tackles.

Justin Lawrence '22 – Colgate University (0-3): Lawrence has seen action in one game this season, against Syracuse on 9/12.

Kason McFadden '22 – Wisconsin Lutheran College (0-2): McFadden has started both games for the Warriors as a defensive back, recording five tackles.

Ethan Morrison '22 – DePauw University (2-0): Morrison has not seen action for the Tigers this season.

Isaiah Schmidtke '22 – Ohio Dominican University (1-0): Schmidtke rushed 13 times for 67 yards in Ohio Dominican's lone game this year.

Jeremiah Williams '22 – Rice University (2-1): Williams has not seen action for the Owls this season.

Cooper Alford '23 – The University of the South (1-1): Alford has started both games for the Tigers this season at tight end. He has recorded six receptions for 46 yards.

Zachery Curtis '23 – Lamar University (2-1): Curtis has appeared in two of the Cardinals' three games this season on the offensive line.

Godswill Giadolor '24 – Coffeyville Community College (0-1): Giadolor has not seen action for the Red Ravens this season.

Jordan Hooks '24 – Sul Ross State University (0-2): Hooks has started both games for Sul Ross on the defensive line, recording one tackle.

Luis Moreno '24 – Trinity Valley Community College (2-1): Moreno has played in all three games for the Cardinals this season on the offensive line.

Will Estes '25 – Northeastern State University (1-2): Estes has not seen action for the Riverhawks this season.

John Medaris '25 – Schreiner University: We are still working to collect stats on Medaris and the Schreiner football program.

 

Men's Soccer

Lucas Martinez '25 – University of Dallas (0-4): Martinez has played in one match for the Crusaders this season, logging 40 minutes against Arlington Baptist.
 

Women's Soccer

Keanne Alamo '22 – Hardin-Simmons University (3-1-2): Alamo has played in three matches for HSU, recording one shot on goal in 114 minutes.

Emily Lozano '22 – Millsaps College (1-2-2): Lozano has started all five matches for Millsaps at goalkeeper, recording 46 saves and one clean sheet.

Kaitlyn Osorio '22 - Wheeling University (0-3): Osorio has started all three matches for Wheeling. recording one goal in 270 minutes.

Alyx Beard '23 – Delaware State University (2-4-2): Beard has appeared in five matches for the Hornets, recording two shots on goal in 63 minutes.

Valerie Veloz '23 – MidAmerica Nazarene University (4-2): Veloz has played in six matches this season for MANU, starting five. She has recorded one shot on goal in 423 minutes.

Lily Bracken '24 – Trinity College (3-0-1): Bracken has started all four matches for Trinity at goalkeeper, recording seven saves while keeping four clean sheets.

Bella Alamo '25 – Houston Christian University (5-4): Alamo has played in eight matches this season, starting five. She has recorded one assist and six shots on goal in 404 minutes.

Alicia Gonzalez '25 – Robert Morris University (2-4-1): Gonzalez has not seen action for the Colonials this season.

 

Volleyball

Kylee Connally '22 – University of Hartford (2-4): Connally has played in all six matches for Hartford, recording 144 assists and 47 digs. She was also voted a team captain this season.

Lyric Berry '23 – Providence College (7-3): Berry has played in all 10 matches for the Friars, recording 60 kills and 49 blocks.

Liya Girma '23 – Plattsburgh State (3-5): Girma has played in all eight matches for the Cardinals, recording 86 kills, 72 digs, and 19 aces.

Leah Oyewole '23 – Washington University in St. Louis (8-1): Oyewole has played in all nine matches for WashU, recording 112 kills and 14 digs.

Cate Hatfield '24 – William & Mary (4-4): Hatfield has not seen action for the Tribe this season.

Paloma Gonzalez Jaramillo '24 – Saint Francis University (4-5): Gonzalez Jaramillo has played in five matches for SFU, recording 30 kills and nine digs.

Delaney Moon '24 – Fairfield University (5-3): Moon has appeared in all eight matches for Fairfield, recording 72 digs, 27 assists, and five aces.

Aven Crosby '25 – Northeastern University (4-5): Crosby has appeared in all nine matches for Northeastern, recording 26 digs and eight assists.

Maddie Smotherman '25 – Texas Tech University (6-3): Smotherman has appeared in five matches for the Red Raiders, recording one dig and one ace.

Ava Wennerstrom '25 – Menlo College (1-5): Wennerstrom has appeared in three matches for Menlo, recording five digs and one ace.
