Bishop Lynch Battles Hard, Drops Their First District Game

PLANO — After opening up district play with a fantastic performance against Ursuline Academy, the Bishop Lynch women's basketball team suffered its first district setback Tuesday night, falling 55-40 to Prestonwood Christian Academy in the PCA Field House. Despite a determined effort for all 32 minutes, the Lions' 12 made three-pointers proved to be the difference.

The Friars received balanced production across the lineup, with four players scoring six or more points. Fre Vowels and Harper Alcantar led the way with nine points apiece, while Avery Billotte added eight and Eleanor Prosser chipped in six.

Bishop Lynch found itself in an early hole, trailing 16-3 in the opening quarter, but responded with grit and composure. The Friars clawed their way back to within four points at 21-17 late in the second quarter before Prestonwood closed the half with a pair of timely three-pointers to extend the lead to 29-20.

In the second half, Bishop Lynch continued to battle, cutting the deficit to seven at 29-22, but could not get over the hump. Prestonwood remained efficient from beyond the arc, finishing the night 12-for-21 from three-point range to pull away down the stretch.
