Billotte Buries Five Threes as Friars Down Ursuline

DALLAS — Avery Billotte matched her career high with five made three-pointers as the Bishop Lynch women's basketball team earned a 60-46 rivalry win over Ursuline Academy on Wednesday night in the Competition Gym. The victory sets up a pivotal district finale next Tuesday, with second place on the line against John Paul II.

The night didn't start smoothly for the Friars, as Ursuline opened the game on an 11-4 run behind early three-point shooting. Bishop Lynch stayed composed, slowed the tempo, and clawed back into the game, closing the first quarter on a 10-5 run to swing momentum back in their favor.

Three-point shooting proved to be the difference, as the Friars knocked down eight triples on the night — their second-highest total of the season. Billotte accounted for five, while Eleanor Prosser added two and Harper Alcantar chipped in one.

Billotte finished with a game-high 21 points, adding five assists and two rebounds. Prosser was the only other Friar in double figures, scoring 13 points to go along with four rebounds and an assist. While Fre Vowels scored seven points, the senior captain made her impact felt as a facilitator, dishing out a career-high seven assists to keep the offense flowing.
