PLANO — Kylie Love turned in her best performance of the young season Tuesday night, recording a season-high 22 kills to lead Bishop Lynch to a 3-1 victory over Coram Deo Academy at the CC Gym. The Friars improved to 11-4 on the season and remained unbeaten in true road matches at 2-0.

Love was the catalyst for the Friars' offense throughout the night, finishing with 22 kills, nine digs, and an ace. The senior outside hitter's 22 kills are a new season high, and just three kills off her career high of 25 set back to Nolan Catholic in the TAPPS semifinals last season.
Maia Raleigh also had a standout night for the Friars, recording her second double-double of the season. The senior setter posted season highs in both assists (38) and digs (13) while also adding three aces.
Bishop Lynch's defensive effort was equally important in securing its 11th victory. The Friars held a significant advantage at the net, out-blocking Coram Deo 8-2. Emory Mooney led the way with five blocks, while Charlie Wells and Kate Heffernan each added four.
The Friars also narrowly won the battle in the back row, finishing with a 76-73 advantage in digs. Raleigh recorded 13, while Bay Corrigan contributed a season-high 12 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 | Bishop Lynch came out firing to open the match, with Wells leading the offense from the middle with five kills. Love and Heffernan each added four kills as the Friars hit .270 as a team. Raleigh recorded 11 assists in the opening set alone as Bishop Lynch took the first set, 25-18.
SET 2 | The second set proved to be the most competitive of the night. Despite hitting just .039 as a team, the Friars battled throughout the set before Coram Deo escaped with a 27-25 victory to even the match. Love led Bishop Lynch with six kills and four digs, while Susanna Hughes added two aces and four digs.
SET 3 | The Friars' offense found its rhythm again in the third set, with Maddie Pope providing a spark. The sophomore recorded five of her eight kills in the set while also adding two digs. Love contributed three kills as Bishop Lynch pulled away for a 25-19 victory and regained the lead in the match.
SET 4 | Love saved her best for last. The senior recorded nine kills in the final set without an error while hitting .409, powering the Friars to a 25-18 victory to close out the match. Mooney and Heffernan each recorded two blocks in the set, while Raleigh added seven assists to help Bishop Lynch finish off the Lions.
