PLANO — The Bishop Lynch football team faced a difficult challenge Friday night against Prestonwood Christian Academy, but several Friars delivered standout individual performances on both sides of the ball at Lions Stadium. The Friars fell to the Lions 45-7, moving to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in district play, while Prestonwood improved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in district play.
Senior wide receiver Nick Payne established a new career high with nine receptions for 79 yards, while Alexander Chaump recorded three catches for 76 yards, including the Friars' lone touchdown of the night on a 40-yard catch and run.
Quarterback MJ Haggan Jr. completed 18 of 32 passes for 195 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Defensively, Atticus Richardson led the way with a strong performance from the defensive line, finishing with six tackles, including three tackles for loss. Senior captain linebacker Alex Finley made his season debut and recorded six tackles and a sack.
Grayson Boothe added four tackles and an interception for the Friars.

NEXT UP
The Friars return home for the first time since Sept. 4, when they host Parish Episcopal at Roffino Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. as the football team hosts its annual Club Friar Night.
