Each week, Bishop Lynch Athletics recognizes one male and one female student-athlete who best exemplify the values of Bishop Lynch Athletics both on and off the field of competition. The Athletes of the Week honor celebrates outstanding performances while also recognizing the character, consistency, leadership, and commitment that make these student-athletes exceptional representatives of the Friar family.

Nick Payne, Bishop Lynch Football

Senior Nick Payne turned in one of his best performances in a Bishop Lynch football uniform last Friday against Parish, accounting for 187 of the Friars' 278 total yards of offense. Payne hauled in eight receptions for 151 yards and a touchdown while also playing significant snaps at defensive back, making an impact on both sides of the ball. His versatility and willingness to contribute wherever needed exemplify the commitment and team-first mentality celebrated by the Athletes of the Week honor.

Grier Beeson, Bishop Lynch Swimming

Junior Grier Beeson put together a standout week in the pool, helping the Bishop Lynch women's swim team defeat Ursuline on Tuesday before leading the Friars to their second consecutive Ranger Relays championship on Saturday. Beeson broke the pool record in the 100-yard backstroke twice at the Davis A. Segal Family Aquatic Center, first posting a 58.53 seconds on Tuesday before lowering her own record to 57.40 seconds on Saturday. She also won all four of her events on Tuesday and three more on Saturday, playing a key role in the Friars' success throughout the week.
