DALLAS — For the second consecutive season, the Bishop Lynch women's swim team captured the championship at the Ranger Relays on Saturday at the David A. Segal Family Aquatic Center. The Friars finished 63 points ahead of the runner-up to claim the team title, while the men's team improved from its finish last season by placing 11th and helping Bishop Lynch earn a top-eight finish in the combined team standings.

The Ranger Relays featured eight events, all contested in relay format: the 200-yard medley, 200-yard butterfly, 400-yard individual medley, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard freestyle, 400-yard medley, 200-yard backstroke and 400-yard freestyle.

One of the meet's top highlights came from Grier Beeson, who broke the David A. Segal Family Aquatic Center pool record in the 100-yard backstroke for the second time in a week. After setting the record with a time of 58.53 seconds on Tuesday, Beeson lowered the mark to 57.50 seconds on Saturday.

Sophia Whitney also had a strong performance, anchoring three first-place relays, including a come-from-behind victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Carolina Girard also claimed three first-place finishes, leading the 200-yard breaststroke relay while also swimming on the winning 200-yard and 400-yard medley relays.

Beeson, Ella Whitney and Sophia Whitney each won all three relays they swam together.
