BL's freshmen boys opened the season with an early two-point lead over Cistercian on Tuesday, but were unable to keep up with the Hawks the rest of the way, falling 61-47.

Michael Horak scored a team-high 13 points for the Friars, while Lucas Herrmann added 11.

The Friars led 13-11 after one period, but fell behind 33-23 at the half following a 22-10 advantage by Cistercian in the second period.

Cistercian posted another 20-point quarter in the fourth, turning a 10-point lead into a 14-point win.
