The Bishop Lynch Lady Friars began their quest for a fourth consecutive straight TAPPS state championship Tuesday on the road against a traditionally-talented Class 6A Coppell squad.
After dropping a very close first set, 27-25, the Lady Friars (1-0) roared back to take the next three and win the match, 3-1. Bishop Lynch closed out the match with winning scores of 25-16, 25-23 and 25-23.
Boston College commit Catherine Ballido and sophomore Madi Tyus led the girls with 16 and 10 kills, respectively. Danielle Nevitt notched 13 digs while Tennessee commit Callie Williams had 12.
