Friars Take Down Bears in Four Behind Raleigh's Near Triple-Double

DALLAS — The Bishop Lynch volleyball team captured its 21st win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Ursuline Academy on Tuesday night in the Competition Gym. The win improves the Friars' record to 21-8 with a 2-1 district record, while Ursuline falls to 22-14 and 3-2 in district play.

Bishop Lynch 3, Ursuline 1 (24-26, 25-17, 25-12, 25-16)

After dropping the opening set, the Friars took control of the match, outscoring the Bears 75-45 over the final three sets. A major factor in Bishop Lynch's turnaround was its performance at the service line, where the Friars recorded 17 aces compared to five for Ursuline.

Maia Raleigh led the charge with a career-high nine aces, finishing just one ace shy of a triple-double with 29 assists, 10 digs, and nine aces. Kylie Love and Bay Corrigan combined for the other eight aces, with Love recording five and Corrigan adding three.

Corrigan also made a major impact from the back row, leading the Friars with a career and match-high 23 digs. The junior was also strong in serve receive, recording 32 receptions with just one error.

Camila Figueroa led the Friars offensively with 11 kills on a .308 hitting percentage. The senior outside hitter continues to find her rhythm, recording double-digit kills in four of her last five matches.
