DALLAS: Bishop Lynch (4-2) volleyball dominated its district opener against their rival Ursuline on Thursday night. The Friars put the Bears away in four games (25-21, 26-28, 25-17, 25-16).
The Friars played well in every facet of the game. Sophomore
Lyric Berry was an absolute force on the net, leading the team in kills (21) and blocks (11). Â The senior backline tandem of
Charlotte Hain and
Jenny Canavan led the team in digs with 26 and 13.Â
The team as a total had 69 kills, easily the most of the year.
Lauryn Lambert and
Maddie Nolan each had 13,
Leah Oyewole had 10,
Ashlyn Zilliken had 7, and
Emma Cuneo had 6. The Bears played very well on defense, getting some great digs and keeping the ball alive, but the Friars were too much to handle.Â
The Friars freshmen and JV teams also beat rival Ursuline on Thursday night. The freshmen won in a thriller 2-1 while the JV took care of business 2-0.Â
Friars look to keep their momentum in the Argyle Liberty/Oakridge Duel on Saturday. They get back to district play on Tuesday, October 6th vs. TCA at home.Â
