PLANO – Bishop Lynch (7-4, 3-1) bounced back against John Paul II (10-8, 3-3) and got a 3-1 (25-21, 24-26, 25-12, 25-5) victory on Saturday. The Friars finished the week going 2-1 in district play.
After two very competitive sets, the Friars pulled away in the final to sets get the victory. Friars won the first set 25-21 and, after trailing 13-5 in the second, almost pulled out the comeback but fell 24-26. Once the third set came around, the Friars took over, outscoring the Cardinals 50-17 in the final sets to secure the victory.
Once again, freshman
Lauryn Lambert led the Friars on offense with 16 kills. Lauryn wasn't the only Friar who played outstanding on offense, either.
Leah Oyewole (8 kills),
Katie Blomberg (6 kills),
Emma Cuneo (5 kills), and
Lyric Berry (4 kills) all contributed to the Friar victory. Defensively, the Friars were everywhere and did not let John Paul get any easy point all game.
This week, the Friars play all four of their games at home, which is great because they are undefeated at home this season. Make sure you subscribe to Bishop Lynch on the NFHS Network so you can watch all the action this week.
