Katie Blomberg was on the JV team her freshman year and received the MVP award for the team. Her sophomore year on the varsity team, Katie was the District Newcomer of the Year in the District and 2
nd team All-District honors. As a junior, Katie was voted Honorable Mention All-District. Katie is also a state medalist in TAPPS beach volleyball. This year, Katie is one of the varsity captains. As a student, Katie is one of the most decorated academic scholars in volleyball program history. She is one of the top students in her class and has been heavily involved in student programs such as Ambassadors, National Honors Society, National English Honors Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Ro Kappa and is on House Council. She was also awarded the Felix Maceda Most Outstanding Junior Award last year. This year, she was on the homecoming court and is representing Bishop Lynch as the Davey O'Brien Scholarship Nominee. Katie has already been accepted to UT and is additionally applying to TCU, UCLA, USC and Stanford University. She plans to major in psychology. Lastly, Katie is a Bishop Lynch legacy- her father, John, is a Bishop Lynch graduate and legend. Congrats to Katie and all of her achievements at Bishop Lynch.
Jenny Canavan attended grade school at St. Mark's Catholic School in Plano. Jenny was the team MVP on the sophomore team her freshman year, and has been on varsity for three years. Jenny was voted a captain of the team both junior and senior years. In both sophomore and junior years, Jenny finished 3
rd at state. Outside of volleyball, Jenny has been very involved as a school leader. Her freshman and sophomore years, she was a student council representative. Her junior year, she was her mentor group captain and induced into the National English Honors Society. This year, she has served as the student engagement coordinator for her house and is in the senior student leadership class as well. Jenny is applying to 8 colleges, but her top choices are OU, Auburn, Georgia and the University of Tennessee. Jenny plans to major in Pre-Physical Therapy or Pre-Vet. We know Jenny will be a huge success post-high school and we wish her the best!
Emma Cuneo came to Bishop Lynch as a transfer student from Prince of Peace Christian School her sophomore year. As a freshman on varsity, she was selected 2
nd team all-district and finished 5
th at state. As both a sophomore and junior, she was a starting middle on the BL varsity team and placed 3
rd at state both years. Emma has played for Skyline Juniors for several seasons and during her 16's season, had the highest hitting average in the whole club and was 2
nd in total blocks for the club. Emma has spent time volunteering at the Christian food pantry when she's not playing volleyball. Next year, Emma plans to attend either the University of Arkansas or Texas Tech and major in Exercise Science. Thank you Emma for a great three years on varsity!
Kyli Davis came to Bishop Lynch from St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School. During her time in the volleyball program, Kyli played for the freshman, sophomore, JV and varsity teams. On the freshman, sophomore and JV teams, she was voted Best Defensive Player on each team by her coaches and peers. As a student leader, Kyli is an ambassador and a mentor group captain and has dedicated many hours to community service. Next year, Kyli plans to major in business and attend one of the following schools: LSU, OU, Texas Tech or the University of Arkansas. Thank you Kyli for your hard work and service!
Charlotte Hain came to Bishop Lynch from St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School. Charlotte played on the sophomore team her freshman year, was the MVP of the JV and captain, her sophomore year and then has played two years of varsity. Last year, she won the team defensive player award and earned 2
nd team All-District honors. This year, she is one of the varsity captains. Outside of volleyball, Charlotte is a member of the BL RU OK club, was in Latin Club for two years, and is a mentor group co-captain for her house. After high school, Charlotte plans to attend either Texas Tech, Texas State, The University of North Texas or the University of Arkansas and major in Sports Management. Congrats on an outstanding high school career so far!
