PLANO – Bishop Lynch (11-8) lost 3-2 in a close heartbreaker to the district champs TCA (13-3) in TAPPS 6A Regionals on Saturday.
Even though the Friars were facing top-seeded TCA, they were confident going into the regional matchup. The Friars came out as they usually do and won the first set 25-16. After the first set, no set was decided by more than two points.
TCA took the second set 27-25 in an exciting back and forth game, and then the Friars won the third 25-23 to take a 2-1 lead. In the fourth set, the Trojans once again squeezed out a close set 27-25 to force a game five. In the fifth set, the Friars took an early lead 6-2 but ended up falling 16-14.
Congratulations to the Bishop Lynch volleyball team on a great season that was filled with many unknowns. Thank you to the seniors for leading the team in a strange year, and Friar Nation is excited to see what the future holds for this young team.
