Box Score DALLAS - The Friars got a four-set victory over TCA on senior night last evening to give them back to back district wins with a sweep over Ursuline last week.
Bishop Lynch held a ceremony for the seniors before the game where they were honored with their families. Jewell Bland,
Trang Cao,
Carmen Landin,
Maddie Nolan and
Rachel Vlk have all accomplished so much as student-athletes at BL. It was nice to get them the recognition they deserved.
Coach
Shea Jenkins started the game with the four seniors on the court as a nice gesture. The Friars started hot, with Cao serving up a few aces and
Lyric Berry getting a few blocks. TCA would storm back in the first set, but BL would wind up taking it 25-23. After dropping a challenging second set 25-23, the Friars dug deep to win the third set 25-21. The ladies were able to pull away in the fourth set and asserted their dominance to win the set 25-11 and the match 3-1.
Lyric Berry had an amazing night as she led the team with 17 kills. Right behind her was
Maddie Nolan (13) and
Lauryn Lambert (7). Senior
Rachel Vlk had a game-high of 24 assists and
Cate Hatfield helped her teammates with 21 of her own.
