Box Score DALLAS - Bishop Lynch swept rival John Paul II last night to the tune of 25-21, 25-22, 25-15 to improve to 3-1 in district play this year.
The Friars and Cardinals kept it close in the first two sets before BL pulled away in each, and in the third set, it was all BL. The Friars had one of their most spread-out offensive games of the year, with five ladies getting double-digit kill attempts and all five getting five or more kills.
Maddie Nolan led the pack with nine kills, with
Leah Oyewole and
Lauryn Lambert each getting six, and
Ashlyn Zilliken and
Lyric Berry had five.
The Friars' ball handling was much improved from their defeat against Parish earlier this week. In the Parish game, the team had a serve receive rating of 1.50 on a scale of 0-3. Last night, BL had an outstanding serve receive rating of 2.14, which drastically improved their play. Lambert, Berry,
Maddie Smotherman and
Delaney Moon all had ratings over 2.17 on the night.
The Friars are now sitting at 15-11 on the year, and 3-1 in district play with a big showdown against the number one team in the district, Prestonwood, next Tuesday.Â
