Box Score DALLAS - The Friars got their second sweep in a row last night as they defeated the Episcopal School of Dallas 3-0 in the Competition Gym.
The Friars started slowly in the first set as they fell into an early 11-9 deficit. But after big plays by
Leah Oyewole and
Paloma Gonzalez, the Friars were able to fight back and take the first 25-20.
In the second set, the Friars got out of the gate early. They took a 6-0 lead and never looked back. The entire team hit 0.480 in the second set, which helped them cruise to a 25-9 win.
Lyric Berry and
Maddie Nolan each had five kills in the second set alone.
The third set was a mixture of the first and second. The Friars continued to hit well with a 0.320 hitting percentage but made a few mistakes serving and service returning. Nonetheless, behind
Lauryn Lambert's four kills, the Friars took the set 25-15 and the match 3-0.

Sub-Varsity Notes:Â The junior varsity was easily able to handle ESD with a 2-0 victory. The sophomore team's 14-game winning streak ended last night as they lost to Highland Park 2-0.
